AdaptivCool Collaborates with Bluestone Energy to Provide Data Center Energy-Efficiency Solutions

A new collaboration agreement have been announced by AdaptivCool and Bluestone Energy Services to provide energy-efficient solutions for data centers in NSTAR and National Grid territories.

AdaptivCool and Bluestone Energy’s ability is further enhanced by this agreement to implement energy efficiency best practices in data center by clients. A similar agreement between them was signed in March 2009. This initiative that builds on the previous agreement utilizes AdaptivCool’s adaptive-cooling Room Scale Intelligent Cooling (RSIC) technology and solution designing capabilities of Bluestone. The solutions provided by Bluestone help clients to earn financial incentives from utilities.

AdaptivCool and Bluestone have collaborated recently on a project for a biotechnology company to provide energy efficient solutions for their data center. The project enabled the client to qualify for a substantial incentive from NSTAR. The project also saved about 40% of the energy required for cooling the data center annually and the client was able to recoup the project cost in less than two years.

AdaptivCool’s General Manager, Rajesh Nair said that they are excited to partner with Bluestone Energy. He further added that utility incentives for data center energy efficiency in the Northeast region have begun and this partnership agreement will be a help to speed the process for their customers.

President of Bluestone Energy, Peter Fairbanks, said that cost-effective technologies adopted by AdaptivCool plays a significant part to increase the energy efficiency of data center. The Return on Investment for a data center energy efficiency project is attractive given the high cost of energy and significant utility incentives, he remarked.
