Billboards Confront the Participants of the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference

Bjorn Lomborg, Director of the Copenhagen Consensus Center, unveiled two billboards in central Copenhagen on 7 December, 2009 the first day of the global climate summit. These two billboards designed to contradict the views of delegates and politicians highlight that the existing measures used in solving global warming issues are imperfect.

The two billboards highlighted the message that the cutting down of carbon dioxide is not going to be achieved through the Copenhagen summit and that there are much better ways to fix the climate. Individuals visiting www.fixtheclimate.com will be provided with the Center’s proposal for a much improved alternative to the Kyoto approach.

The two billboards were set up on 7 December, 2009 between 8 AM and 9 AM. The first billboard is set up opposite to the Danish parliament at Hojbro Plads and the second bill board is erected at the bustling downtown Copenhagen street-corner called Ostersogade 32.

Cafes, bars and other similar hang outs in Copenhagen are provided with free postcards. Video advertisements of these billboards are made available on the Copenhagen metro that is used by the delegates to reach the global climate summit at Copenhagen.
