Independent Power Systems manufactures guy-less towers for mounting small wind turbines. The guy-less towers are available in two models, namely 15GLT40 and 15GLT40 Hybrid. The guy-less tower, with cantilevered design, hinges 15 feet above the ground and stands 40 feet tall. The industrial hand winch helps to raise and lower the tower by one person. The winch has an automatic disc brake that supports raising and lowering of the wind tower safely and prevents the tower from dropping down. The winch line and winch are always attached to the tower to prevent operator errors.
The 15GLT40 Hybrid guy-less tilt down tower is designed for the wind turbine that has a rotor diameter of 15 feet and it can stand up to 40 feet tall. It is incorporated with an adjustable solar array rack. This solar array rack can hold mono or multi crystalline solar panels that have capacity up to 800W. This hybrid guy-less tilt down tower from Independent Power Systems is easy to assemble and its maintenance can be done on the ground.
The 15GLT40 Hybrid guy-less tilt down tower is offered as a complete installation kit. It includes all the components required for installing the turbine. The tower top can be modified or pre-drilled to suit the turbine. The dimensions of main, lower and top mast are 20 x 0.5 x 1 feet, 14.5 feet x 5 inches and 9.5 feet x 5 inches, respectively. The base has 20 x 3 x 1.5 feet dimensions. This hybrid tower combines solar and wind electrical generation designed on a single structure.
