Iberdrola Renewables Executes Power Purchase Agreement with M-S-R Public Power Agency for its Big Horn 2 Wind Project

A long-term power purchase agreement has been signed by Iberdrola Renewables with M-S-R Public Power Agency. Iberdrola Renewables is about to begin construction of its 50-megawatt Big Horn 2 Wind Project near Bickleton, Washington. Through this agreement, the entire output from the project will be purchased by M-S-R Public Power Agency for a period of 25 years.

Martin Hopper, General Manager of M-S-R Public Power Agency, remarked that the supply of eligible renewable electrical energy will increase from 35 percent to 40 percent due to the company’s transaction with Iberdrola Renewables in order to provide clean and renewable wind power. Barrett Stambler, Vice President of origination for Iberdrola Renewables, stated that the company is committed in helping M-S-R Public Power Agency to fulfill its goal of improving the renewable portfolios of its members.

The members of M-S-R Public Power Agency will receive power from Big Horn 1 and Big Horn 2 through the California-Oregon Transmission project that has been initiated by M-S-R. Iberdrola Renewables possess a portfolio of about 3,500 megawatts of wind power that is now used all over the US and 200 megawatts is used in Washington.
