LDK Solar and Global Power Resources Sign Agreement for Developing and Constructing 100 MW of PV Plants

LDK Solar has signed an agreement with Global Power Resources for the development and construction of PV plants with a total capacity of 100 megawatts. These PV plants are intended to be completed by the end of the year 2010. Global Power Resources is a company held by SBTFC Holding.

LDK Solar, a chief manufacturer of multicrystalline solar wafers, will supply the solar modules along with procurement, construction and engineering services. The final ownership of these plants will be acquired by Global Power Resources. LDK Solar will carry out the project pipeline that includes European countries such as Germany, France, Spain and Italy. These are countries that are at present participating in the national feed-in tariff subsidies.

Xiaofeng Peng, CEO and Chairman of LDK Solar, remarked that the company’s activities in Europe are swiftly expanding along with effective progress that meets the company’s strategic plan. LDK Solar, according to Peng, is considered as a dependable partner by industry participants to carry out their investments in the PV sector.

Professor Eliyahu Kelman, Chairman of Global Power Resources, remarked that the company is pleased to have signed an agreement with LDK Solar, which in turn will enable the company to expand its ownership of PV plants in Europe.
