The first speculative industrial buildings of The Allen Group located at 4800 and 4900 Langdon Road in Dallas have received the LEED Gold Certification award. The Allen Group is the developers of the Dallas Logistics Hub (DLH), which is a multi-modal logistics park that covers 6,000 acres in Southern Dallas County. This award has been verified by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI).
LEED is the nation’s leading program involved in designing, constructing and operating high performance green buildings. The Allen Group was selected for this award because of its efficiency in lighting, water, energy and material usage. The incorporation of different sustainable strategies for two industrial buildings was another reason that promoted the selection of The Allen Group for this award.
Richard Allen, CEO of the Allen Group, stated that buildings certified with the LEED certification help families, taxpayers and businesses to save money through the usage of less water and energy. A healthy environment is developed through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by the LEED certified buildings. Allen also stated that the company has the capacity to construct 60 million square feet of space within the Dallas Logistics Hub. This will be the company’s first attempt to achieve its goal of an eco friendly and sustainable industrial park.
