Western Wind and Southern California Sign Power Purchase Agreement Amendment for 120 Megawatt Windstar Project

An amendment was executed by Western Wind and Southern California Edison to the Power Purchase Agreement for the 120 Megawatt Windstar Project. This was announced by Western Wind Energy Corp. The 120 Megawatt Windstar Project is located in Tehachapi, California. The terms are updated to reflect current market conditions through this amendment, though the agreement details are confidential.

Western Wind is hoping to start the construction of this 120 Megawatt Windstar Project     on  August 1, 2010 based on the discussions conducted with the Engineering Procurement and Construction team and the company’s turbine supplier. The commercial operations date for this 120 Megawatt Windstar Project is expected to be March 1, 2011.

Western Wind does not depend on the upcoming transmission projects for transmitting energy, since the company transmits energy through the already existing and privately owned Sagebrush and Wilderness Lines.
