Sun Systems provides various models of solar hot water systems, including systems incorporated with Coppersun solar collectors. The Coppersun CS-450S solar collector, offered by the company, features a patented roof integrated design. Due to this feature, the solar collector looks like a skylight or a small satellite dish on the roof. The capacity of the solar collector is 50 gallons. This solar collector uses domestic tap or potable water as working fluid.
Coppersun CS-450S Solar Collector
The frame of the Coppersun CS-450S solar collector is made of 6063 T-5 aluminum. For a bottom connected solar collector, the frame includes an integral counter flashing. The flashing pan used is a CopperSun segmented type of roof flashing. The aluminum frame is finished with powder coated paint. The dimensions of the frame are 48.75 x 98.75 inches. The solar collector, offered by Sun Systems, features a minimum of one-inch thick polysocyanurate insulation. The front of the solar collector features low iron tempered glass that is 1/8-inch in thickness. This tempered glass has a minimum transmissibility of 91 per cent.
The solar collector features DWV copper tubing that has a nominal diameter of 4 inches and wall thickness of 0.058 inch. The Coppersun CS-450S solar collector has an aperture area of 29.93 square feet, with a foot print area of 33.43 square feet. The aperture length and width of the collector are 95.25 and 35.25 inches, respectively. The collector measures 6.437 inches in height. The CS-450S solar collector weighs 745.15 pounds when filled and 327.9 pounds when empty.
