Vestas has received an order from the German company Prokon for 48 V90-2.0 megawatt wind turbines. These wind turbines are required for various locations in Poland. The contract includes supply of VestaOnline Business SCADA solution, commissioning of the wind turbines, delivery and installation. These 48 V90-2.0 megawatt wind turbines will be delivered during the years 2010 to 2012.
Carsten Rodbertus, Managing Director of Prokon, remarked that the company has successfully worked with Vestas for a number of years on the German market and hence it is natural for the company to choose Vestas as a partner for its first projects in Poland.
Prokon has over 15 years of experience as an investor, developer and operator of wind energy projects. A total of 234 wind turbines have been installed by Prokon, which is distributed on 32 wind farms in Germany. Bio fuel and renewable investments are the other areas Prokon is actively involved in besides its investments in wind energy.
Klaus Steen Mortensen, President of Vestas Northern Europe, remarked that the company is delighted for having been selected by Prokon for its first projects in Poland and pleased to receive the contract from the company.
