Completion and grid connection of a 1.48 megawatt ground-mounted PV power plant in Germany was announced by ET Solar Group, which acted as the EPC contractor. ET Solar Group, a PV system turnkey solution service provider and a manufacturer of downstream PV products, is situated in Nanjing.
The project’s complete design was provided by the German engineering team from ET Solar. ET Solar’s China manufacturing plant supplied the PV modules. The plant’s design efficiency is almost 82 percent, according to an evaluation conducted by a third party German consulting firm.
The facility is located in the Paehi, 50 kilometers south of Munich, and the main construction started in late November 2009. In mid December 2009, the grid connection was carried out at E.ON, Germany’s largest grid operator. The plant is expected to generate about 32 million kWhs of electricity over the 20-year subsidized period and will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 20,000 tons. The plant has a designed life period of 30 years.
A syndicate of two regional German savings bank financed this project. Wattner AG is the only equity investor of the project through its SunAsset fund. Wattner AG is a Cologne based investment trust dealing with renewable energy investments.
Dennis She, Chief Sales Officer and Vice President of ET Solar, remarked that the company is excited with its partnership with Wattner and for the project’s completion. Dennis She further stated that the transaction demonstrated the company’s capabilities to carry out its downstream strategy by taking advantage of its EPC experience, cost advantages and product quality.
Guido Ingwer, Managing Partner, remarked that the project highlights Wattner’s success in the year 2010 besides paving the way for future alliance between Wattner and ET Solar.
