Advanced Energy Industries announced that it has entered into a multi-year agreement with AMEC to provide its SiteGuard(SM) services for Colorado State University's 2-MW photovoltaic solar power plant that is located in Fort Collins, Colorado.
The new solar plant commenced generating power in early December 2009 and is anticipated to be fully operational in early 2010. The Advanced Energy’s groundbreaking SiteGuard program is specifically designed to increase uptime as well to reduce levelized cost of energy (LCOE) for entire photovoltaic solar array sites.
This SiteGuard program can be implemented for all brands of modules, tracking equipment and inverters and also to the entire balance-of-system performance. The program comprises SiteGuard O&M and SiteGuard PM. SiteGuard O&M is used to reduce maintenance as well as operational costs and SiteGuard PM for handling preventive maintenance for the entire array.
Dr. Hans Betz, CEO of Advanced Energy, said that the customers can depend on Advanced Energy to provide comprehensive services that will help them to get the most out of their investments. Hans Betz added that this agreement underscores the company’s commitment to not only to provide solutions to reduce LCOE at customers’ solar array sites but also to provide services for the entire lifecycle of those sites. He further commented that the company will take advantage of its expertise to help customers to achieve their targets.
