Flamewave Fires manufactures the Tortoise free-standing firebox that is a traditional style open convector firebox. The firebox warms the room by heating the room air that comes into the convection chamber. The air is passed around the convection chamber in a natural way. The firebox spreads the heat evenly throughout the room. The free standing firebox is suitable for use as inglenook or stand alone fireplace.
The Tortoise free-standing firebox is available in eight sizes to suit various requirements. The models 1, 1A, 2, 3, and 4 come with different frame finishes made of brass, stainless steel or copper. These free standing firebox models burn wood as well as coal and gas. Other models 5, 6, and 7 are exclusively wood burning fireboxes. When coal or wood is used, the burning is controlled by the flue damper.
The Tortoise free-standing firebox is constructed as a one piece that is completely welded and it does not need any assembly. The firebox, offered by Flamewave Fires, does not require additional parts for wood burning. As a standard feature, the traditional firebox is supplied with an ash tray, fuel retaining bar and tools. The models 1 to 4 are provided with a multi fuel grid for using coal mix. The other accessories available with the firebox include remote control, Sparkguard mesh, gas conversion and horizontal firebar option.
