J. P. Sayler & Associates, Consultants provides refurbished wind turbines, ranging from 1.0kW to 2.5MW, for small scale and remote applications. The Bergey XL-R 7.5kW wind turbine is a stand alone system with backup power. It provides 750 to 1,800kWh power per month relying on wind and solar source.
The Bergey XL-R 7.5kW wind turbine uses a 100ft Guyed-Lattice tower. Towers are supplied in 10ft section where crane access is impossible. The PV array in the wind turbine comprises two sub-arrays of six parallel strings and 48 to 55W modules. The PV modules can hold six modules each and supported by eight ground mounts. The XL-R 7.5kW turbine utilizes Trojan L-16 batteries, which are capable of supporting the loads up to seven days without receiving input from wind energy. The Trace SW5548 dual sine-wave inverters supply 240V AC.
The XL-R 7.5kW wind turbine has a startup wind speed of 7.5mph, rated wind speed of 31mph and cut-in wind speed of 7mph. The rated power capacity of this wind generator is 10kW for pumping and remote application, and 7.5kW for charging the battery. The furling wind speed is 35mph. The maximum wind speed for producing the rated power is 120mph. The diameter of the rotor is 23ft. The XL-R wind generator includes three upwind blades, POWERFLEX blade pitch control, AUTOFURL overspeed protection and permanent magnet alternator.
