T-Solar Group and Global Ecopower are set to jointly develop 120 MWp of solar photovoltaic plants over the next three years in France. The joint development agreement was signed by both the companies. T-Solar Group and Global Ecopower have formed a joint venture company, T-SEP, with equal stake for the development, construction, and operation of these solar photovoltaic plants.
With attractive incentives and regulatory frameworks for solar installations in France, T-SEP is set to benefit from these incentives. On January 12th, the French government has officially published attractive feed-in-tariffs for roof top (between 42cEUR and 50cEUR/Kwh plus indexation) as well as for ground solar installations (31.4cEUR/Kwh plus indexation), with an obligation to purchase the solar power for a period of 20 years.
T-Solar Group and Global Ecopower consider this partnership as benefiting for both the companies and are speeding up their respective plans for development. German Allianz will be providing insurance for the solar power plants developed by this joint venture.
T-Solar Group has invested more than 1 billion euros for initiating a business project that involves all the links in the photovoltaic sector's value chain. The company’s manufacturing plant in Orense (Galicia) produces the largest solar module in the market (5.7 square meter) incorporating the advanced thin-film hydrogenated silicon technology. In Spain, the company is currently operating 28 photovoltaic power plants with installed capacity of 143.39 MWp. In 2009, the plants produced a total of 218 GWh, which is enough to meet the annual electricity needs of 200,000 inhabitants. The company, in terms of installed capacity, is the leader in photovoltaic solar energy generation in south of Europe.
