Concentrix Solar announced that it has received IEC certification 62108 for the company’s CX-75 FLATCON(R) module generation. Concentrix Solar, a new division of the Soitec Group, supplies Concentrator Photovoltaic (CPV) systems. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is the leading electrical and electronic standards organization in the world. In the CPV industry sector, the IEC 62108 certification is the standard. The IEC 62108 ensures that assemblies and modules can be used in various outdoor climates.
Hansjorg Lerchenmuller, CEO of Concentrix Solar, said that the IEC 62108 certification of its CX-75 module confirms that the modules can be deployed for commercial scale electricity generation. Lerchenmuller added that the certification testifies the systems capability to withstand sustained extreme outdoor climates.
CENER (Centro Nacional de Energias Renovables), a Spanish accredited testing institute, had performed the assessment and the Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification (AENOR) had certified it. The certification affirms that the CX-75 module has passed all the performance and accelerated aging tests required by IEC successfully. The previous model of module generation from the company has already received the IEC certification in 2007. Since 2009, IEC 62108 has been the certification standard for CPV modules.
The modules manufactured by Concentrix Solar have the same quality, since they are manufactured in a production line that is fully automated. The automated production line ensures high efficiencies by the modules for a longer period of time. The efficiency of the CX-75 module has been increased by Concentrix Solar and has been proven in installations in Puertollano, Spain and San Diego, USA. Innovative manufacturing methods have led to high-quality modules with an average efficiency of 27.2%.
