Recurrent Energy announced that it has entered into agreements with Southern California Edison. The utility company will buy all the power generated from three of Recurrent Energy’s solar power projects in California. Recurrent Energy is a leading solar power projects developer.
The solar power systems will be constructed and operated by Recurrent Energy, which are located in San Bernardino County and Kern County. The projects have a total peak output of 50 MW of DC (MWDC) power. The solar projects are anticipated to be completed in early part of the year 2013.
Of the three systems, two will be located in Kern County (6 MWDC and 22 MWDC) and the third system in San Bernardino County (22 MWDC). These ground-mounted systems are placed on private land, which are leased by Recurrent Energy. The construction of these photovoltaic systems is anticipated to start in 2012.
Arno Harris, CEO of Recurrent Energy, said that to meet short-term renewable energy goals, distributed-scale solar projects play a significant role. Harris added that these projects are a clear proof of the company’s approach to develop and market solar energy systems in California.
Marc Ulrich, Southern California Edison vice president, Renewable and Alternative Power, said that company is pleased to be working the experienced team from Recurrent Energy to bring the solar projects online rapidly.
