AiD Engineering has completed a number of geothermal projects in the commercial and industrial sectors. One such project was the installation of an open loop geothermal system at the hotel Kavouri, located in Boula. This office multi space building covers a total area of about 8,500 square meters.
With the installation of the open loop geothermal system by AiD Engineering, energy costs were cut down by about 50 per cent. A total of three drillings were completed in this project to treat brackish water through reinjection and pumping. To offer the heat pumps with a higher level of durability and protection, AiD Engineering built a loop system that consisted of strong and durable components such as a buffer tank and heat exchangers. The heat exchangers were built from titanium, providing a high level of protection to the system. An additional buffer tank was installed in the adduction column in order to lessen the occurrence of heat pump reactivations.
Other projects by AiD Engineering have been completed in locations such as residential units, apartments, casinos, infirmaries and the like. The types of geothermal systems installed by them include open loop systems, horizontal closed loop systems, closed loop vertical systems, hybrid geothermal systems and closed conical loop systems.
