Palladeo announced today that it has joined the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Also, the company is refining its green specifications and standards for use on retail projects by its design, manufacturing and construction divisions.
Nearly 40 Palladeo employees -- including environmental designers; materials specialists; fixture and decor fabricators and installers; architectural team members; and construction project managers -- have received training in preparation for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accreditation. The USGBC's LEED Green Building Rating System(TM) is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.
"Joining the USGBC underscores our commitment to our continuing development of best practices in sustainable design, products and operations," said Bob Bautista, Palladeo president and CEO. "We pledge to bring passion for creating retail environments that drive incremental sales to clients who also share our passion for sustainable business practices. The result is cost efficiencies and demonstrated environmental stewardship."
Bautista named Paul Rottler, Palladeo executive vice president, to direct the organization's sustainability program and to serve as Palladeo's representative to the U.S. Green Building Council.
