Geoflex Systems manufactures geothermal heat pump systems for use in residential and small commercial units. They manufacture five different models of heat pump systems with different capacities. The geothermal heat pump system from Geoflex can be installed without disturbing the existing registration circuit. The geothermal heat pump system can be used for up-flow or down-flow, horizontal, right or left turn, front or back return with side discharge.
Geoflex up-flow unit can be converted to a down-flow unit by placing the fan below the compressor and reconnect. The fan replaces the return air on any one of the four sides of the system for maximum use. A Geoflex horizontal unit has both the fan and the compressor side by side. The return air is directed by fixing the fan in an appropriate position according to the requirement.
The geothermal heat pumps with loop systems are suitable for use in residential applications. The pumps can be installed with horizontal loops, vertical loops, pond loops, and open loops. The closed loop systems circulate the fluid through small diameter underground pipes. The closed loop systems can be installed vertically or horizontally. Horizontal loops are used if more space is available and vertical loops are used if limited space is available. In horizontal loops pipes are placed in trenches with the length ranging from 100 to 400 feet. Pond or lake loops are used if adequate water is available. The pipes are placed on the bottom of the lake or the pond. Open loops use groundwater as a direct source.
