Recurrent Energy, a leading solar projects developer, has selected Solaron PV Inverters from Advanced Energy Industries for its 5-MW San Francisco Sunset Reservoir Solar Project.
The project, which is owned by Recurrent Energy, is being developed in collaboration with San Francisco Public Utilities Commission. When the project is completed, Recurrent Energy will operate the system. The PV inverters from Advanced Energy were selected based on various factors such its high efficiency ratings and proven Levelized Cost Of Energy (LCOE) advantages as well as excellent customer service provided by the company.
Chief executive officer of Advanced Energy, Dr. Hans Betz, said the company is pleased that Recurrent Energy has selected its Solaron PV Inverters for this important project. Betz commented that the Solaron inverters are highly reliable as well as capable of providing optimized efficiency. San Francisco's renewable energy commitment is being demonstrated through this project and the company is delighted to help the city to accomplish its renewable energy goals.
The solar project, when completed, will comprise 25,000 solar panels spread across 12 acres. It will be one of the largest municipal solar projects in the country. The 5-MW solar, which is being developed on the roof of largest reservoir in San Francisco, is planned to start construction this winter and anticipated to be completed in 2010.
