AC Solar supplies wind turbines manufactured by Bergey Windpower. The BWC XL.1 wind turbine is an upwind model that consists of three blades made from pultruded fiberglass. This turbine produces a rated power output of 1,000 watts, while the peak power output is 1,600 watts. The BWC XL.1 wind turbine comprises an airfoil that results in an increase in efficiency. It has a rotor in a diameter of 2.5 meters.
The wind turbine from AC Solar is available with a BWC PowerCenter controller that functions by controlling its battery charging capability. The BWC XL.1 wind turbine incorporates a slow motor rotor idling feature, which is activated in case of battery full conditions. It also comprises an electrical braking system along with a 30-ampere controller.
The BWC XL.1 wind turbine can be installed on tilt-up guyed towers. These towers are available in varying heights of 25 meters, 9 meters, 19 meters, 13 meters, 19 meters and 32 meters. Tilt up guyed towers are supplied as kits containing tubular sections of the tower, guy anchors, guy wires and necessary hardware required for installing the kit. These tower kits also consist of grounding rods and hardware. The BWC XL.1 wind turbine is suitable for off-grid residential applications.
