An advanced solar site evaluation instrument, SunEye 210, has been launched by Solmetric Corporation. The SunEye 210 portable electronic instrument is an advancement of the popular SunEye 110 model. This new handheld instrument, which has digital image processing capabilities and a calibrated fisheye lens, can be utilized for site evaluation to analyze solar and shade access of potential sites.
Featuring a rugged enclosure, the SunEye 210 can be operated in one hand with better user control. It incorporates a compass, electronic inclinometer and an optional GPS. Another unique feature in the instrument is its capability to provide immediate feedback on solar access through the live preview mode. Other features in the instrument include quick-launch buttons, extended battery life, stylus holder, and a high-resolution screen. A sturdy hard carrying case is also provided for the instrument.
Willard MacDonald, President and CEO of Solmetric, said solar installations throughout the world are expanding rapidly and installers are seeking ways to improve the accuracy and speed of site evaluation. Combining advanced technologies and customer feedback, the SunEye 210 was developed from the scratch, MacDonald added.
