China Solar Power Announces its Third Solar Manufacturing Plant in China

An agreement was signed between China Solar Power (CSP) and Suzhou Industrial Park for the construction of CSP’s third amorphous silicon solar module plant in China. The company is planning to invest up to $180 million to develop this facility as well as for other technology centers. Frank Liu, CEO of CSP, is expecting a production capacity of 200 MW in this manufacturing facility.

The production equipment for CSP’s first thin film photovoltaic manufacturing facility was supplied by ULVAC, Inc. of Japan. The plant, which is located in Shandong Province, Northern China, started its operations in October 2009.

Suzhou Industrial Park, a joint venture between Singapore and Suzhou was launched in the mid-1990s. The industrial park will have its first thin film solar manufacturing facility through this investment from CSP.
