Raser Technologies, an environmental energy technology company, announced that it has signed an agreement with the financing partners of the Thermo No. 1 Geothermal Project to extend the final completion of the plant to June 30, 2010.
Nick Goodman, Chief Executive Officer of Raser Technologies, said the company is pleased with the extension agreement with the financing partners. The company is making certain alterations in the plant and the output continues to increase, Goodman reported.
The company had recompleted four wells recently to decrease the influx of cool water into the plant and increase the average temperature of the water required for the plant. Other modifications were also made to increase the efficiency of the generators as well as to increase the output of the plant.
Ben Barker, Vice President of Resource Management, Raser Technologies said that encouraging results were seen after the recompletion of the wells. It will take some more time to achieve full benefit since a backlog of water at less than the required temperature is stored in the aquifers, Barker said.
