e-Marine supplies a range of wind generators manufactured by Rutland and Southwest Wind Power. The Rutland 503 mini windcharger is designed for weekend sailors. It is suitable for trickle charging batteries and battery banks up to 100Ah on board vessels. There are six blades made of single glass re-enforced nylon molding, which connects the blade tips. This low friction generator begins charging batteries at a wind speed of 5.8 knots.
The 3 phase generator design of the Rutland 503 mini wind charger generates power up to 60W and 5A at 12V power capacity at a wind speed of 50 knots. The turbine is available in a diameter of 20 inches and with compact turning radius of 10 inches. The Rutland 503 mini windcharger is made of marine grade materials with stainless steel fasteners. It has no radiated interference and it complies with BS EN5008-1 1992.
The HRS controller includes LED voltage level indicator, which makes sure that the battery is not overcharged. The Rutland 503 includes sealed or non-sealed deep cycle lead acid batteries having a capacity of 50Ah at 12V. The thickness of the cable is based on the overall length used between the battery, regulator and wind generator. Using a Marlec’s 1m section tube, this wind generator can be installed on the land also. The marine mounting kit is offered in two sections, stainless steel tube and deck fixing, and fasteners.
