Northwest Geothermal offers geothermal loop installation services to contractors and homeowners. The company can perform purging and testing of the system, drilling bore holes, vault installation, loop installation, header excavation, fixing supply and return lines of pipes, and fusion of pipes. Kent’s Geothermal division along with Northwest Geothermal installs geothermal systems and closed loops.
Northwest Geothermal provides loop designing services, installation and start-up services. Horizontal geothermal loops are installed at any time of the year and they provide only services for open looped geothermal systems. Horizontal geothermal loops are installed in places where excavation can be carried out. Trenches measuring a depth of five feet are dug and multiple pipes are placed at different depths in the trench. The horizontal loops are cost effective and it normally requires many trenches.
According to Northwest Geothermal, it is better to avoid using underground boring equipment to install earth loops. The presence of air gaps in the earth loops can prevent transfer of heat, and it can lead to improper installation of the heat source pump. The vertical earth loops are installed in places where land area is limited. A pipe with a U-bend at the bottom is inserted into the bored hole. The holes are filled with a grout solution for better heat transfer. Northwest Geothermal provide ongoing services after installation also. They can repair if customers report leaks in pipes or failure of heat pumps.
