Magnum Teknologies supplies Lakota wind turbines. The Lakota SC wind turbine is equipped with low inertia blades, which are made of aerospace grade and uni-directional carbon fiber. These low inertia blades are designed with “Stealth-Acoustic” technology, which helps the blades to operate without any noise. The helicopter leading edge tape on the blades are stiffer than steel. With these leading edge tape and “Stealth-Acoustic technology, the blades provide smooth and quiet operation than plastic, injection molded, wood or fiberglass reinforced blades.
The blades of the Lakota SC wind turbine has upward furling design which helps to generate maximum power even beyond the wind speed of 60mph. The wind generator incorporates torque key together with a locking nut system and rectifier/controller. It can charge 1A at 12V from a wind speed of 9mph. The Lakota SC is available in different nominal voltage capacities such as 12V, 24V and 48V. Its rotor diameter is 82.3 inches and the swept area is 36.9ft2. The alternator used is a 3 phase AC brushless permanent magnet. The start-up wind speed of this turbine is 6mph.
The Lakota SC wind turbine uses 36 slot, 3 phase alternator, 8 pole along with 10 winding leads. These components allow making four separate field adjustable settings to increase the output and match it with variable wind speeds. This wind generator includes a single stator, a neodymium iron boron permanent magnet, made with stainless steel fittings on a cast aluminum casing. It has the capacity to withstand a wind speed of 120mph. The Lakota SC has titanium dioxide and polyurethane aircraft coating, which is UV stabilized.
