The red student mini car Baldos II, produced by students at (LUT) Luleå University of Technology has been invited to participate in the Clean Equity Monaco 2010. A trade fair which is supported by the Prince of Monaco Albert II. A panel of experts has selected the world's most inspiring CleanTech companies to participate.
It will be very exciting, we do not really know what to expect, but it's great that we have received so much attention, says Ulrika Grönlund one of the students who developed Baldos II and who is on her way to Monaco.
Baldos II is the lingonberry red car which was made by students from various engineering programs at Luleå University of Technology. The car participated in 2009 Shell Eco-Marathon and was after that inspected by the Swedish vehicle inspection and passed for traffic on Swedish roads. Moreover car fuel has recently been tested and verified as Sweden's most fuel-efficient car. It is on these merits that the car and the students received an invitation to participate in the Clean Equity Monaco 2010.

to show that we have good quality and that students have the opportunity to work on challenging projects during their education at LUT, "says PhD Professor Elizabet Kassfeldt, project officer at Luleå University.
Clean Equity Monaco 2010 will be held on 4 and 5 March and is said to be the leading trade fair for the next generation of clean and green technology. The fair is supported, among others, by the Prince Albert II of Monaco. Some of the fair's partner is Singapore Economic Development Board, Royal Philips Electronics and Covington & Burling in Washington DC.
Other participants are CleanTech companies from around the world, selected by a special group of experts. Alternative energy and alternative fuels companies are represented, for example from the Netherlands, the United States, China, Britain and Germany.
To the trade fair are also strategic investors, policy makers, legislators and the media from around the world invited. Moreover a couple of vehicles is presented, among others the city car River Simple's Mk 1, hybrid car, Tesla's roadster, and last but not least Baldos II from Luleå University of Technology.
