Urban Green Energy provides different models of vertical axis wind turbines. The 10kW vertical axis wind turbine measures 6 x 6.2 meters in size with a tower height of 11 meters. The gross weight of this wind turbine, inclusive of the tower, is 3,000 kilograms. It has a weight of 1,700 kilograms without the tower. The turbine consists of fiberglass blades with an overall dimension of 625 x 98 x 12 centimeters. The 10kW vertical axis wind turbine is a grid-tie system with an output ranging from 280 volt to 580 volt DC. In case of off grid systems, the total output is 110 volt DC.
The wind turbine from Urban Green Energy consists of a permanent magnet DC generator that operates in temperature conditions ranging from -40 degrees centigrade to 115 degrees centigrade. The 10kW vertical axis wind turbine incorporates a direct drive technology. The turbine generates 10 kilowatt hour power at a rated wind speed of 12 meters per second. The cut-in and cut-out wind speeds of the turbine are 4 meters per second and 25 meters per second, respectively.
The 10kW vertical axis wind turbine has a survival wind speed of 55 meters per second. It produces noise of less then 27 decibels at a speed less than 7 meters per second. When the speed ranges in between 7 and 10 meters per second, the noise level of the turbine increases but does not exceed 32 decibels. The brake system of the turbine includes a secondary manual brake and electronic over speed protection unit. The 10kW vertical axis wind turbine is suitable for both commercial and residential applications.
