Satcon Technology Corporation’s PowerGate Plus 500 kW solar PV inverters have been selected by GCL Solar Limited for deployment in three solar projects in China. Satcon Technology, a leading utility-scale power solutions provider, will supply 38 MW of inverters to GCL Solar, one of the largest utility-scale solar power facility developers in China.
Earlier, Satcon had supplied 23 MW of inverters for the largest rooftop and ground-mounted projects of 2009 in China. The company’s PowerGate Plus 500 kW inverter, which uses proven and field-tested technology, will be deployed in each installation.
The Youyu City solar power project with a capacity of 10 MW will provide power to Shanxi International Power Solar Power Generation Ltd. The Pingluo County Shizuishan City plant with a capacity of 10 MW will provide power to Ningxia State Power CSI New Energy Developer Ltd. Another 20-MW solar power site is proposed to be developed during the first half of 2010 and is anticipated to be commencing operations in late summer.
General Manager of GCL Solar Limited, Dr. Gu Huamin, said that these solar projects reflect the increasing needs for utility-scale solar power projects in China. Huamin further said the company values the partnership with GCL as it continues to develop most advanced utility-scale solar power plants in the country.
