A new, advanced wind energy turbine production and assembly facility is to be developed and constructed by The U.S. Renewable Energy Group, American Nevada Group and A-Power Energy Generation Systems. The advanced wind turbines produced in this plant will cater to North and South American markets.
The new facility with about 320,000 square feet area will produce 1,100 MW of wind turbines per annum and will create about 1,000 jobs in Nevada. During the construction process, it will create more jobs in the state. Site identification and construction of the facility will be done by American Nevada Group for the group.
Some of the factors that influenced the decision to locate the manufacturing facility in Nevada include Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s commitment to promote investment in Nevada, affordable real estate, and proven track record of skilled workforce in the state. The U.S. manufacturers will be producing most of the important wind turbine components. The finance for site acquisition, construction and operation of the wind turbine assembly plant will be arranged by A-Power from its funds.
CEO and Chairman of A-Power, Mr. Jinxiang Lu, said the vision of Senate Majority Leader Reid to develop clean energy industries in Nevada, his home state, skilled workforce in the state made Nevada the best place to locate the company’s headquarters and wind turbine assembly plant.
A-Power's Director and COO, John Lin, said the company is committed to support clean energy development and this collaboration will help to create more than 1,000 jobs in Nevada as well as enable the company to expand its presence in the renewable energy sector in America.
