American DG Energy Generates Clean Energy at Saint Elizabeth Home in Rhode Island

American DG Energy Inc. has started generating clean energy at Saint Elizabeth Home in Rhode Island through its On-Site Utility energy solution. American DG Energy is a leading on-site utility company that provides clean electricity, hot water, cooling solutions, and heat to healthcare, housing, hospitality and athletic facilities. The company has signed a 15-year agreement and expects to earn total revenues of about $1.4 million through this project over the contract period.

American DG Energy sells electricity and space heat produced through its clean energy system at Saint Elizabeth Home to the nursing home at prices lesser than the prices from the local power utility. With no capital costs for the Saint Elizabeth Home, the nursing facility needs to pay only for the energy it uses. In addition, installation, operation, and maintenance costs are also borne by American DG Energy. The on-site energy system with a capacity of 75 kW does not need manpower support from Saint Elizabeth Home.

The clean energy system at the nursing facility helps to reduce 330 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per annum. American DG Energy produces energy from a CHP (combined heat and power) systems installed on-site and sells it to customers. On-site utility customer need to pay only for the energy generated from the CHP system with no capital or operating costs to it. The energy is sold at discounted rates to the customers.
