Heliodyne manufactures various components for solar hot water systems including collectors. The Gobi solar collector, available from the company, is flat plate shaped, enabling it to offer high performance. This solar hot water collector has the ability to bear 50 pounds of weight for every square foot.
The Gobi solar collector features a low profile tapered design, making its appearance subtle on roofs. This collector, offered by Heliodyne, consists of an anodized aluminum frame that helps enhance its strength and longevity. With Dyn-O-Seal unions that are factory installed, this solar hot water collector does not have any solder connections. The Gobi solar hot water collector is available in two different surface types to suit various applications of solar water heating systems. The two surface types are black paint and blue sputtered.
The surface type of the Gobi solar collector is chosen according to the geographical region of the installation. The black paint coating is more economical than the blue sputtered type. The black paint surface type is suitable for warm climates that have sufficient solar radiation. The blue sputtered coating harnesses maximum heat even during low solar radiation. Hence, this surface type is suitable for cool climates and any other climate condition. The Gobi solar collector comes in three sizes of 4 x 6 inches, 4 x 8 inches and 4 x 10 inches.
