Silicon Constellations offers the LumiStar in-pavement lighting marker, which is a solar powered wireless system. This lighting marker features six bright LEDs (light emitting diodes). These LEDs warn the drivers on the road, whenever a pedestrian crosses the road or when there is unsafe road condition.
The LumiStar solar in-pavement lighting marker is powered by a solar panel that provides the solar energy directly to markers during day time. For the night time operation, solar energy is stored in a back-up battery. When the back-up battery is fully charged, it has the ability to provide power to the markers for a maximum period of 60 days. This wireless in-pavement lighting marker, manufactured by Silicon Constellations, is controlled by a transceiver that has an operating range of 2.4GHz frequency. Silicon Constellations’ protocol for this wireless control ensures smooth operation without any interference.
The power management software of this solar road marker controls the light output automatically according to the available ambient light. This saves battery charge and increases the life of the battery. As the LumiStar solar in-pavement lighting marker is controlled by a wireless radio, it does not need saw cutting or trenching on the road for installation. As an option, the configurator software is provided with a wireless programmer. This software is used to change the flashing patterns of the markers and to gather information on usage statistics to a laptop wirelessly.
