MiaSole, a leading CIGS (Copper Indium Gallium Selenide) thin-film solar panel manufacturer, is participating in the Project Brightfield with the installation of thin-film solar panels capable of generating 200 kW of electricity. Chevron Corporation owns the Project Brightfield solar demonstration facility, which is located near Bakersfield in California.
Solar panels manufactured by seven emerging photovoltaic companies are tested and evaluated at the Project Brightfield. A total of 7,700 solar panels from these companies are installed. The amount of power produced from each solar technology will be measured and the project will also evaluate how the performance of the panels is affected by humidity, wind, rain, and temperature.
CEO of MiaSole, Joe Laia, said the company is delighted to be part of this unique project that not only demonstrates the power of solar energy, but also the reliability and efficiency of the company’s CIGS thin film solar technology. He further commented that solar power is one among the most efficient, cost-effective sources of energy on earth. This project marks MiaSole’s fist commercial-scale project in the state of California.
MiaSole’s thin-film solar technology has some of the highest conversion efficiency rates in the world and the company’s products are specifically designed for large-scale applications such as for independent power providers, industries, ground-mount installations, and rooftops.
