Öko-Test, a German magazine, awarded a “Very Good” rating for SCHOTT Solar’s photovoltaic solar modules. The magazine in partnership with another journal, Photon, evaluated 15 polycrystalline and monocrystalline solar modules from international and German manufacturers for their performance and potential defects.
CEO of SCHOTT Solar AG, Dr. Martin Heming, said the test results confirm the quality strategy of the company is working. Heming commented that the solar industry in Germany is passing through a tough phase and the company should strive to maintain durability and quality of its solar modules. The CEO was referring to the proposed plans of the government to further reduce funding support for solar power by mid-year though there were no plans to do so. If the plans come true, solar systems that are commenced after July 1 will have 16% less funding support from the government. Through solar modules that have the capability to perform to their full potential for periods longer than the promotion period of 20 years, high yields can still be realized.
SCHOTT Poly 220 polycrystalline solar module received an outstanding score in the performance test and “Very Good” rating for both “defects” and “performance” testing. The tests were conducted at Photon’s testing laboratory.
