Grasslands Renewable Energy Launches its Wind Spirit Project

Grasslands Renewable Energy LLC has launched its Wind Spirit Project, which is a green and integrated approach to harness, store and transport clean renewable energy for consumers. For the purpose of advancing its Wind Spirit Project, the company has requested for regulatory approvals from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

Grasslands is currently working on a transmission system for accessing renewable energy resources from across the Northern Great Plains and Montana. The Wind Spirit Project combines the renewable energy from different locations with smart grid components and energy storage technologies for creating a consistent supply of renewable energy. The energy harnessed from the project is likely to be gathered through 230 kV AC transmission cables and sent to different markets utilizing high-voltage DC and AC transmission lines.

The Governor of Montana Brian Schweitzer stated that Grasslands’ wind project will help generate clean energy for the nation and also bring quality energy jobs for the people of Montana. Already the company’s project has gained support from federal, state and local officials.
