LiveNeutral, a North American organization engaged in offsetting greenhouse gas emissions, has chosen Greenhouse Gas Services, a venture jointly owned by GE and AES, as its sole supplier of carbon credits for businesses and individuals.
LiveNeutral allows individuals and business organizations to work out their carbon footprint online at its website www.LiveNeutral.com and purchase carbon credits. LiveNeutral has successfully organized a number of carbon management programs in association with businesses such as AEP, DuPont and University of Colorado.
Greenhouse Gas Services is planning to provide carbon credits to LiveNeutral from the landfill gas project situated at New Bedford, MA. This project, held and operated by New Bedford County uses entrapped methane gas in the landfill for the production of electricity. An autonomous third party agency engaged for the purpose of verifying the reduction of greenhouse gases using the standard of practices followed by Greenhouse Gas Services, will confirm that each carbon credit signifies a genuine, additional and complete reduction of greenhouse gases.
Greenhouse Gas Services is engaged in investing in and developing projects that allow reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Some of its projects include biogas, landfill gas, biomass, and coal mine methane.
CEO of ClimateCHECK and LiveNeutral Tom Baumann detailed how the partnership with Greenhouse Gas Services would allow people a chance to counterbalance the carbon emissions by utilizing an autonomous organization-verified, superior carbon credits. He attributed the clear-cut standard of practices, assurance of strict due diligence and the following of established procedures in projects as reasons for choosing Greenhouse Gas Services as the company’s supplier of carbon credits.
