Skanska Receives Contract for Building Power Plants

Skanska has received contracts to build two hydropower facilities in Høyanger Municipality, Sognefjorden located in western Norway for a Norwegian client Statkraft. The contract is valued at NOK 254 million (around SEK 310 million).

Under the terms of the contract Skanska will take charge of civil engineering and construction work on the hydropower facilities Makkoren and Eiriksdal, which together will have 340 GWh of capacity. The facilities will be strategically built on the mountain to make use of the upright fall in the Daleelva and Høgsvatnet rivers. The contract also includes the construction of two road bridges.

Work on the projects will start right away, with completion expected in three years time.
Focusing on civil engineering and construction operations, Skanska Norway has around 4,000 employees. Skanska also engages in developing residential projects and Public Private Partnership projects in Norway.
