Carmanah Technologies offers the R838 model remote activated solar flashing beacon. This beacon can be installed without the requirement of trenching, cabling and wiring. The R838 solar flashing beacon does not work using electric power and can be placed at any required location. This model incorporates ENCOM Wireless Data Solutions provided wireless technology for remote operation and wireless activation.
Using a single master controller a number of beacons down the line can be activated. The flasher and the off times of the beacon can be programmed to suit the individual application requirements. The two-way communication feature installed in the beacon allows operating of beacons at remote locations.
The R838 remote activated solar flashing beacon provided by Carmanah Technologies has a height x width x depth measurement of 120 mm x 120 mm x 80 mm and weighs 0.8 kg. This beacon can be either wall mounted or hand held. This model uses a 60 Hz AC power supply adaptor. The primary power backup of this model provides continuous power supply for two hours and its secondary backup offers 24 h supply at 25„aC. The medium used for supplying power is a 12 V cigarette lighter adaptor. This model has two master controllers and eight numbers of transceivers.
The R838 solar flashing beacon provided by Carmanah Technologies has a PC controlled radio configuration and uses ControPAK software and a DB9 female connectivity for inputting. The wireless activation system used in this model use either push-on/push-off feature or use auto-time feature that can be configured up to 1 h. This beacon has NCHRP 350, FDOT certification.
