Poblocki Sign Company has received LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) for its manufacturing plant having an area of 120,000 sq. ft. at West Allis, a Milwaukee suburb. Poblocki Sign Company designs, fabricates and installs signage. Poblocki Sign Company collaborated with Sustainable Building Solutions for receiving this certification. Sustainable Building Solutions provided the company with crucial consultation services.
Poblocki Sign Company, by means of this certification, has found ways to reduce utility and water consumption expenses; decrease landfill waste and pollution; identify steps to reduce costs incurred during building operations; reduce environmental impacts; and improve the comfort, productivity and health of employees.
The LEED Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance certification is designed to help building operators and owners to find and improve existing maintenance and operations of institutional and commercial buildings. Rewarding current best practices, the certification offers a framework for buildings to utilize minimal energy, natural and waster resources while enhancing the indoor environment.
Poblocki Sign Company has also launched its new series of sustainable products targeted at sign customers. These include an energy-efficient, thin series of LED display and theater cases named TechLine; a novel series of sustainable interior signage called EcoTac Plus; an Insert-Based Sign System which is conveniently maintained and adapted with recyclable inserts; and a LEED Interactive Display series that educates visitors on the sustainable environments of the company.
