TD Canada Trust Expands its Green Mortgage Rebate

TD Canada Trust has added solar panels that are approved by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) to its list of products that are eligible for its Green Mortgage rebate.

TD Canada Trust’s AVP for Real Estate Secured Lending Chris Wisniewski commented that this development comes as an added financial benefit for customers looking to shift to sustainable energy for powering their homes. The latest TD Canada Trust Green Home Poll indicated that around 25% of Canadians have incorporated green technologies into their homes with 88% content with the results.

The Chief Environment Officer of TD Canada Trust Karen Clarke-Whistler commented that in 10 years time solar panels are likely to be commonplace on homes. At a time in which homeowners are increasingly looking at ways to cut energy costs, solar panels will serve them well.

The TD Canada Trust Green Home Poll indicated that 66% of all Canadians believe that tax credits can motive them to opt for energy-efficient renovations to their homes.
