Environmental Protection Agency Awards $70,000 Grant to AccuStrata to Advance Thin-Film Solar Production Control System

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded $70,000 to AccuStrata Inc., through phase-one Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant for the advancement its thin-film solar panel manufacturing control system. The company, which is Technology Advancement Program incubator of Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute, develops real-time optical control systems that improve the efficiency as well as the manufacturing yield of the thin-film solar panels.

As per the terms of the agreement, both the companies will start the integration of flexible CIGS photovoltaic modules from Ascent Solar into products that are designed for various markets in India.
