Indian Oil Corporation, a state-owned company in India and a major oil refiner, is planning to invest approximately Rs. 2,000 crore to develop solar energy generation capacity of 50 MW and wind energy generation capacity of 200 MW.
In a move to expand its wind energy operations, power-plant operator NRG Energy signed a letter of intent for the acquisition of the South Trent wind farm. The generated power from the proposed wind farm is enough to provide electricity for a city with 200,000 inhabitants.
