CDTi and Pirelli Partner to Market Emission Control Products for Gasoline and Diesel Applications

Pirelli & C. Ambiente SpA and Clean Diesel Technologies, Inc. today announced the signing of an agreement to form a joint venture company to market and sell emissions control products for both gasoline and diesel applications in Europe and the CIS countries. The new joint venture company, Eco Emission Enterprise Srl, will be located in Milan, Italy, and is expected to begin operations in March 2013.

Neoenergia and Odebrecht Energia Commence Deployment of Solar Power Plant at Arena Pernambuco Soccer Stadium

Neoenergia and Odebrecht Energia began the deployment of the solar power plant at the Arena Pernambuco soccer stadium, a project that is part of the Research and Development (R&D) program of the three distributors of the Neoenergia Group; Celpe (state of Pernambuco), Coelba (state of Bahia) and Cosern (state of Rio Grande do Norte). With 1 MWp of installed capacity, equivalent to the average consumption of 6000 Brazilians, the solar plant will cost about 10 million Brazilian Reals, being 9 million Brazilian Reals invested by Neoenergia, through the R&D stategy project of Aneel, and 1.2 million Brazilian Reals invested by Odebrecht Energia, with completion scheduled for June 2013.

Orbital-Built LDCM Satellite Gets Power from EMCORE Solar Panels

EMCORE Corporation, a leading provider of compound semiconductor-based components and subsystems for the fiber optic and solar power markets, announced today that EMCORE solar panels are powering the Landsat Data Continuity Mission (LDCM) satellite that was successfully launched on February 11, 2013 from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. LDCM was designed, built and tested by Orbital Sciences Corporation for NASA to support the Landsat Earth observation program that began over four decades ago. The LDCM satellite continues a 40-year legacy of seven previous satellites that have collected vital data and images of the Earth's surface and environment.
