AMSC, Nexans Launch Superconductor Fault Current Limiter Solution for Interconnected Power Grids

'Wind Power Korea 2012' is held from 5th to 7th, December by Gyeongsangnam-do, a hub of east south area of Korea. 94 companies participate in the exhibition running at CECO (Changwon Exhibition Convention Center) located in Gyeongsangnam-do, a city taking 80% of Korean Wind Power System and 50% of component industry in Wind Power industry.

CPUC Approves Increase in Rebates Offered Through California Solar Initiative -Thermal Program

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has approved an increase in rebates offered through the California Solar Initiative (CSI)-Thermal Program of up to 45 percent. The CPUC authorized the higher rebates to help boost early adoption of solar water heating technology and encourage involvement in the statewide program.

EIA Calls Upon Global Leaders to Eliminate Hydrofluorocarbons

The Washington, DC-based Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) today issued an open letter to global leaders meeting at the international climate negotiations in Doha, Qatar, urging them to act now to eliminate hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) – one of six classes of greenhouse gases (GHG) controlled under the climate regime.

Cobalt-Based Electrolyte Increases Efficiency of Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells

Photovoltaics continues to be an expensive technology. Dye-based solar cells may represent a more cost-effective alternative to traditional solar cells. In these cells, a dye is used in place of a semiconductor to trap the light. Tandem cells consisting of both a conventional n-type and an “inverse” p-type dye-sensitized solar cell seem to be especially promising.

Kubokura to Install T5 Solar Roof Tile System on Rooftops in Kanagawa Prefecture

SunPower Corporation today announced that systems integrator Kubokura Densetsu Co. Ltd. has signed a supply agreement for its T5 Solar Roof Tile. Kubokura will install the T5 Solar Roof Tile on four leased rooftops in the Kanagawa Prefecture. Utilizing the country's new feed-in-tariff, Kubokura will sell the electricity generated by the 540-kilowatt solar systems back to the grid through the local utility. The clean energy generated will be enough to serve more than 180 homes.
