Bentek Solar Ships 110MW of UL 1741 UTS Smart, Integrated Disconnects String Combiners

Bentek Solar, a leading designer and manufacturer of PV products connecting PV panels to inverters worldwide for the commercial and utility-scale marketplaces, recently completed 110MW of shipments for a utility-scale project in Mojave, CA. Shipments include the new UL 1741 listed Bentek 1000VDC Utility-Scale (UTS) smart string combiners and integrated disconnect string combiners.

Under a comprehensive $4.9 million energy savings performance contract (ESPC) with Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN), the Building Technologies division of Siemens Industry, Inc. (Siemens) announced that Manchester Memorial Hospital should save nearly $500,000 a year in utility consumption.

Panasonic, Macerich Commence Multi-Property Retail Real Estate Solar Power Program

Panasonic Eco Solutions North America and Macerich, have aligned to begin the first phase of a multi-property retail real estate solar power program. Over the next 12 months, solar installations at a total of 12 Macerich shopping centers in Arizona, California, New York and Connecticut are expected to yield 10.2MW to 12MW of clean energy – enough power for approximately 10,000 homes.

Jönköping Energi Expands Combined CHP Plant with Metso Biofuel-Fired Boiler

Metso will supply Jonkoping Energi's combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Torsvik, Sweden, with a new biofuel-fired boiler. Jonkoping Energi is expanding its CHP plant and the new unit will serve as a mid-load unit to meet the district heating and electric power needs of Jonkoping municipality. The value of the order will not be disclosed.

Ballard Power Systems today announced the commissioning of a 1.1-megawatt ClearGen™ fuel cell system installed at the Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A., Inc. (TMS) sales and marketing headquarters campus in Torrance, California. Powered by Ballard's proprietary proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells, the ClearGen™ system enables Toyota to satisfy peak and mid-peak power needs using electricity from either the clean energy fuel cell system or from the power grid.
