Ameresco Selected to Develop and Implement LED Street Light Project in the City of Yakima

Ameresco, Inc., a leading energy efficiency and renewable energy company, announced today that it has been selected by the City of Yakima to develop and implement a citywide LED street light project through an Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC). The City upgraded 400 of its downtown street lights to LED in 2009 using American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding.

Saft-led Consortium Awarded Contract to Build Energy Storage System on La Réunion Island

A consortium led by Saft, the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of advanced technology batteries for industry, has been awarded a multi-million euro project by Akuo Energy. This turnkey contract is realized in partnership with Ingeteam (Spain) - world leading manufacturer of power electronics and energy management systems– and Corex Solar (based in La Réunion) to build the Bardzour solar photovoltaic (PV) production and Li-ion (lithium-ion) energy storage system on the French island of La Réunion in the Indian Ocean.

Boeing Identifies Green Diesel as New Source of Sustainable Aviation Biofuel

Boeing has identified "green diesel," a renewable fuel used in ground transportation, as a significant new source of sustainable aviation biofuel that emits at least 50 percent less carbon dioxide than fossil fuel over its lifecycle. The company is working with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and other stakeholders to gain approval for aircraft to fly on green diesel, further reducing the aviation industry's carbon emissions.
