Cost-effective, high-performance solar electric solutions provider Day4 Energy Inc. has reached an agreement to acquire photovoltaic (PV) equipment manufacturing and design company ACI-ecotec GmbH & Co. KG (ACI). Day4 Energy will completely acquire ACI in a stock transaction of around 10.8 million shares. The acquisition of ACI is subject to receiving approval from the Toronto Stock Exchange.
Combining the expertise and equipment of ACI with the patented and proprietary technology of Day4 Energy enables Day4 Energy to introduce its manufacturing technology solution meant for the manufacture of PV modules and PV cells based on technologies created by Day4 Energy. The existing customer relationships, market reputation and execution capabilities of ACI enable Day4 Energy to introduce its manufacturing technology solution to a wide range of PV manufacturers located in key markets. The R&D team of Day4 Energy will be further strengthened with the addition of equipment engineering capabilities and manufacturing processes of ACI.
The manufacturing solution of Day4 Energy, based on proprietary Day4 Guardian and Electrode technologies, provide PV module and cell manufacturers with an ideal opportunity to decrease their production expenses and investment while achieving high performance in their products in terms of energy production, investment return and reliability.
By providing a turn-key PV module and cell manufacturing solution to customers, Day4 Energy intends to increase the market share of its products in both emerging markets as well as new markets. Moreover, the sales of Day4 Energy manufacturing solutions is likely to change the revenue model of the company as technology royalty streams and manufacturing line integration services associated with the novel product offering will play a crucial part of the revenue model of the company.
