Green-powered electronics manufacturer and emergency preparedness company Etón Corporation has launched the Scorpion, which is an all-terrain, solar-powered device for outdoor adventures. This multi-functional, self-powered device provides information, energy and light.
Having the flexibility of being powered by either a dynamo hand-crank or AC adapter or solar panel, the Scorpion can be used in remote places. Users can use the USB port for charging their cell phones through hand-crank. The device offers detailed and up-to-date data and weather conditions by means of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) weather band. The Scorpion also consists of an AM/FM radio digital tuner.
The rugged and IPX-4 splash-proof exterior of the Scorpion makes it ideal for use in harsh outdoor environments. The product comes in orange or green colors. Other features of the Scorpion include an in-built LED flashlight, an audio line input meant for music devices and a carabiner clip. The Scorpion can also be used as a bottle opener.
